Riggered by the positive characteristics of laser-welded sandwich panels and faced with the recent flooding, earthquakes and storms throughout the Europe and World, a research project was conceived to design and produce several emergency responsive actions from sandwich panels. Having in mind that steel sandwich panels are light and modular structures and still strong enough one can think of several immediate applications that are of need during catastrophes. Hand assembled bridges, movable dikes or earthquake safe houses are some of the possibilities. AS2CON aided these efforts by producing a project proposal document. |
