Alan is the co-founder of as2con and responsible for the overall running of the company. His technical experience ranges from structural design and analysis for various projects, e.g. forced vibration and noise analysis of passenger vessels, grounding of steel sandwich panels, conceptual studies involving design optimization and decision-making.

He is also involved in the development of certain engineering software, e.g. concurrent and collaborative ship design for integration of design software, for optimization of laser-welded sandwich panels.

 

Over the period 2001-2008, Alan worked as a research scientist at the Aalto University (previously The Helsinki University of Technology) having research, teaching and managerial duties. He was actively involved in the EU FP7 projects: De-LIGHT, SAND.CORe, SANDWICH, INTERMODESHIP, APPLYCRASH2.

Nataša is one of the founders of as2con. She is involved with the development and market management for the company. She is also involved in research projects such as: Internship, Co-patch and Safewin.

She specialises in customer value management, user perspectives of new technologies, internet communication, business-to-business relationships, stakeholder preferences, market research, maritime and construction industry analyses and qualitative research methods.

 

During the period of 2003-2008 she was actively involved in the Centre for Relationship Marketing and Service Management at The Hanken School of Economics in Helsinki, Finland. She acted as the director of the M.Sc. programme on Interactive Marketing, where her obligations were both in research and teaching.

Sören is the co-founder of as2con. As a chief scientist, he is collaborating on scientific projects and also mentoring students work. His areas of research ranges from field of assessment of the post-accidental deformations, vibrations analysis of ship and steel structures, fatigue analysis of maritime structures to multi-objective optimization of ships side structures, steel sandwich panels and steel sandwich panel joints.


Since August 2011, Sören is Professor at Department of Marine Technology, NTNU, Trondheim, Norway. Since 2004, Sören worked as a researcher at Aalto University (previously The Helsinki University of Technology) having research, teaching and managerial duties. His research focus is on: Material modelling, Ship collision and optimisation. Sören was actively involved in several EU FP7 projects: SANDWICH, SAND.CORe, ERASTAR, BEEST, MARSTRUCT, IMPROVE, ASDEPP.

Darko is the technical manager for as2con responsible for engineering software solutions and structural analysis projects. He is involved in developing various computer applications such as software for fast re-meshing and new user interface software that’s used for sandwich and stiffened panel design. He also developed the core routines and conversion tools for concurrent and collaborative ship design system including CATIA-NAPA conversion tool. He was in charge of structural design and analysis for a number of projects, e.g. forced vibration of passenger vessels, conceptual studies involving design optimization and decision-making.


During the period 2000-2005, Darko worked at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, Zagreb, Croatia both as a researcher and as a teacher. He worked there on the MAESTRO development for multi-criteria optimization, participated in structural global FEM analysis, optimization and detailed stress analysis. He also worked as the Sales Manager and Head of the Zagreb Office from 2005 - 2006 at the company; Termoplin Ltd., providing both technical support and expertise to customers and professional engineers.

Davor joined as2con team in 2010 as the composite structures and materials manager. He is responsible for EU project CO-PATCH and for F22R boat production.

Davor gained practical experience in boatbuilder Seaway group Ltd., where he specialized in composite structures production and technologies, industrialization of the composite production and structural optimization of the pleasure crafts and composite boats.

Nikolina has been on board with the as2con team since 2010 as a customer relations manager. She is also active in the service development and marketing activities of the company. Nikolina is specialized in managing customers/clients/partners, as well as specialising in project management, co-ordinating and writing EU project apllications as well as in realizing international, national and regional funding opportunities.

 

She has an extensive experience in project management and marketing activities at the Technology-innovative Centre in Rijeka, Croatia where she worked during 2005-2010. She was involved in EU Projects funding, national and regional funding, creating business plans and investment projects, organisation of: fairs, educative valorisation of innovative ideas and marketing activities of FIPRO Foundation.

Hari Hadžić, M.Sc. (Naut.)

  • Diploma Engineer Degree in maritime navigation received at Faculty of Maritime Studies, Rijeka, Croatia

Hari gained practical experience on board the merchant vessels. On shore, he has worked in a shipyard as a quality controller for steel surface preparation, welding and paint. During his career he has also worked as assistant and science manager for EU funded projects at the Faculty of Engineering in Rijeka.

 

Currently, he is working as a manager for ship care and COMPA repair projects, as well as the paint inspector for Jotun paints.

M.Sc. studies - University of Rijeka, Faculty of Economics, Rijeka, Croatia, 2004-2008Marija joined as2con team in 2011 as a Marketing Communications Manager, where she is managing a broad range of communications and marketing support to the organization and its clients. She is providing consultation and exepertise on public relations implementations, with special emphasis on media relations, internal communication and relations with the clients.    

                                         
Over the period 2009-2011 she worked at the company specializing in communications management - Predikat Ltd., where she participated in proposing, producing and implementing numerous communications plans and PR activities for various clients. Working as a PR consulting gave her major experience in media relations as well as in event management.

Sandro has been on board with as2con since 2009 as a project manager. His main activities involve: the conceptual design of a crashworthy coastal LNG carrier, CNG container design, offshore wind turbine service vessels and their transfer systems. Also, he has been involved in research on collision risk analysis, conference article writing and proposal preparation.Over the period 2008-2009, Sandro worked as a trainee at the Naval Dept. at the company Saipem Mediterranean Services LLc., Rijeka, Croatia, where he was responsible for vessel mooring and barge ballasting. He also has experience from working at the company Kvarner CAD Ltd., Rijeka, Croatia, as an Assistant Modeller in the Ship Design Sector dealing with ship structure 3D modelling. Sandro is also a passionate athlete and a proud member of the First Croatian University Alpine Expedition „Kilimanjaro Africa 2010“ that climbed Mount Kilimanjaro (5895 m) in 2010.

Dražen has been on board with as2con since 2008 and in 2009 became a project manager. Since then he has worked extensively on the application of the Finite Element Method for solving strength, vibration and acoustic problems. So far, he has been involved in structural assessments of several ships, sandwich panel structures, composite patches and so on.

Aleksandar has been on board with as2con since March of 2011. After finishing Master thesis on seakeeping performance of a CNG container ship, his main area of interest was the application of the Finite Element Method in structural analyses. So far, he has worked on a structural analysis of mooring equipment for an asphalt carrier and both thermal and structural analyses of a piping system. He has also worked on a cruise ship design in a preliminary phase as well as on EU funded project CO-PATCH.

Robert has been on board with as2con since November of 2011. Currently he is working on an EU FP7 project Safewin and managing composites production and application.

After finishing Master thesis on innovative fluid dynamic energy conversion into electricity based on the Tesla turbine, his main area of interest was the application of new technologies in energy conversion systems and innovative engineering designs. He is also a pattent owner, Pat.N. 20100430A.

Maša Paliska

Her primary duties are related to administration, organisation of seminars, events, contact with clients, etc. Her previous work experience is related to accounting and administrative assisting.

Miloš Balunović

Junior Researcher

Miloš has been on board with as2con since late 2011 as a junior researcher. His activities involve research and technical innovations. Currently he is working on a few commercial projects as well as on EU/FP7 projects Ulysses and Co-patch.

 

Miloš has won "Neumann János - technical innovations European championship" award with his concept of high efficiency and high power output small displacement V12 engine. He is also a former champion of Serbia in Sailing class Finn junior, 3rd on Balkan championship 2006 and the youngest competitor in the class FINN to compete on an European championship.

 

His range of interest includes designing a boat that would travel at a speed of sound on water and carry big loads.
